Gender in "Twelfth Night": Advancing Beyond Self-Reflection

| Participants in this roundtable will discuss solutions to the problem of how to engage students in informed action. The presenters will explain how students in their Art/Lit class successfully completed activities exploring gender in Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night"; however, these students showed little evidence of applying conclusions from their explorations to their lives. Participants will discuss possible methods of assessing informed action in such a unit. Topics for discussion include porfolios, journaling, and use of technology. |
