Balancing Salsa, Monsters, and Literacy: Learning to Write in the Bilingual Kindergarten |

| This workshop addresses the development of children's writing in the bilingual (Spanish) Kindergarten. The participants will learn to use an assessment tool that accurately rates children's writing levels. Examining children's work from September to May, they will use this tool to discover the students' progress in writing skills. During a presentation explaining why and how we introduced the Writer's Workshop, they will learn how to organize the Writer's Workshop and integrate learning to write across the curriculum. They will view a video demonstrating some aspects of the Writer's Workshop, and will be invited to give feedback on implementing and improving it in any kindergarten. |
