| Workshop + Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction + Middle School |
| Equity in education is a hot topic. All too often, however, when teachers try to implement more equitable classroom practices, they face nothing but roadblocks. This workshop focuses on heterogeneous groupings as a pathway to equity. We will present our team's model, including instructional strategies and supporting data. Participants will gain experience in assessing student abilities and needs, differentiating assignments, and individualizing the classroom environment. We will also brainstorm potential problems and solutions for participants' communities, and attendees will leave with materials to jump-start their own program. |
