Designing Meaningful Change: Building on Values That Support Your School

Do your efforts at school restructuring end up being just redecorating? Get rid of the off-the-shelf blueprints for reform! Custom design improvements around the foundation of values that already exists in your school. Two classroom teachers and the principal of a large urban middle school will facilitate a modified, descriptive review protocol in which participants will examine the values of a school. The group will work together to explore traits of a positive school culture and learn about a variety of tools that have helped a school move from superficial restructuring to meaningful reform.
