That's a Family! Integrating Family Diversity into School Curriculum
Facilitator(s): Beth Reis

Workshop   +   Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction   +   Elementary School
The documentary "That's A Family!", an educational film for children in grades K-6, allows educators to learn from children themselves why family diversity education is essential in our schools today. Through the use of this film and its accompanying curriculum guide, this workshop actively demonstrates the tenth Common Principle, working toward non-discriminatory and inclusive pedagogies. Participants will learn how to integrate family diversity into their own curriculum, and how to discuss their support for this curriculum with parents, administrators, and other teachers.
