Day-Long Session: Teaching, Coaching, and Leading for Educational Equity
Facilitator(s): Victor Cary

Pre-Conference   +   Leadership: change process   +   Everyone
This session will be an introduction to the theory, processes, and tools used by the Bay Area Coalition for Equitable Schools (a CES regional center) to implement an equity framework for classroom practice, school design, and community connections. There is no "package" that enables one to do equity work. The process is rather one of increasing knowledge, developing alliances, and empowering oneself. Participants will learn how to use practical tools and strategies for addressing equity and social justice in public education.
Date/Time: Thursday, 8:00am - 3:00pm   Room: Sheraton Aspen   Session #323
