Looking at Student Work from the Perspective of Equity
Facilitator(s): Tony Smith

Workshop   +   Classroom Practice: assessment   +   Everyone
At BayCES we support students, teachers, administrators, and community members to use "looking at student work" protocols in the pursuit of equitable educational outcomes. In our experience using and facilitating protocols, issues of equity do not surface without individuals being purposeful and focused on equity from the outset. Most often, a bridge to meaningful conversations about the kids who are not experiencing success needs to be added to protocols. In this session, we will practice using protocols and tools to look at samples of actual student work for the express purpose of addressing equity issues. We will also discuss implications for practice and provide examples of how this equity work has been performed successfully.
Date/Time: Friday, 1:30pm - 3:30pm   Room: CC 612   Session #273
