Keepers of the Vision or Emerging Dinosaurs? Growing a Learning Community beyond Its Original Members
Facilitator(s): Kathy Ruffalo, Eileen Barton

Workshop   +   Leadership: change process   +   High School
Transforming a school into a learning community is an inclusive and continuous process. Schools must find ways to incorporate the voices of teachers who have stood on the sidelines of the change dialogue as well as those of new faculty members. This workshop will explore the tensions experienced by established school learning communities as they grow, and will identify strategies to address and ease those tensions. Using a variety of visual and verbal prompts, we will break into table groups to explore and problem-solve how to bring all school voices into consideration; equity begins with each school member being heard!
