A State of Mind, a State of Heart, a State of Being: Facilitating Humane Learning for Human Students
Facilitator(s): Rosemary E. Kirby, Maria MacHatton, Tyler Thomas

Workshop   +   Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction   +   Everyone
Acquainted with CES only six years ago, the English Seminar Class/Knightwriters have had 19 successful years of "following" the Common Principles. The only class of its kind in a non-Coalition school, we believe strongly that student learning is best achieved and longer lasting when approached "humanely" and "humanly." Explore the unique learning approach (which integrates critical thinking, creative thinking, the fine arts, Socratic discussion, and community service), participate in learning activities/games, and interact with student facilitators from the class. Join us and listen to what these students say about how such learning has impacted their lives--as students, as community members, and as individuals.
Date/Time: Saturday, 8:00am - 10:00am   Room: CC 208   Session #242
