A Road Map to Successful Whole-School Reform: Teacher Collaboration, Data Analysis, Inquiry Strategies
Facilitator(s): Darren Lewan, Hayward Vereen, Jr.

Workshop   +   School Design: data collection & analysis   +   Everyone
By 2003, South Brunswick High School will be serving a diverse population of 3,000 students. Since 1997, the SBHS Smaller Learning Communities reform process has addressed personalization, student achievement, community, and structural changes as well as teaching practice. Key members of the reform are teachers, and all staff and students are agents of change in the move toward smaller learning communities. Our presentation will demonstrate the effectiveness of collaborative whole-school reform and inquiry strategies to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom. Participants in the workshop will role-play student-as-worker through a cooperative group setting, think/pair/share, and cooperative inquiry.
Date/Time: Friday, 1:30pm - 3:30pm   Room: CC 616   Session #201
