Higher Education Partnerships: Creating Centers of Support
Facilitator(s): Tom McGuire

Workshop   +   Leadership: change process   +   Everyone
In Vermont and New Hampshire, where a good deal of rural poverty exists, two very different higher education institutions came together to ask the essential question, "How can we help schools reform around CES Principles?" After a year of work and collaboration with CES centers, we are now a functioning independent school change organization called the "Coalition Center for Essential School Reform." While our efforts will be based in Vermont and New Hampshire, the exciting part of this workshop will be the sharing of the planning that took place to create our center and the visions we have to assist schools. Schools now have an entrance point to the expertise of two higher education institutions based on CES Principles that they did not have before; let us show you how to tap the resources of similar institutions near your school!
