From Rhetoric to Action: An Essential Masters in Arts Program for Teachers As Change Agents
Facilitator(s): Gilberto Arriaza, Martin Krovetz

Workshop   +   Leadership: change process   +   Everyone
The Educational Leadership Department at California State University, San Jose, has implemented and developed several teacher leadership programs over the last years. More recently, the department developed a new CES Principles and experience-based Master's Degree program for teacher leadership as a strategy to advance deep school change in four large high schools. A team of CSU students and two faculty members will share their work on the MA program as we discuss how to identify guiding principles for coherence within school change efforts and within the district office's change plans, question how to advocate for all children, and discuss how to involve the community in our school change work.

Martin will be signing copies of his book, Fostering Resiliency: Expecting All Students to Use Their Minds and Hearts Well at the Fall Forum at an event called, Meet the Authors.
Date/Time: Saturday, 10:30am - 12:30pm   Room: CC 617   Session #17
