A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words: Old Adage, New Application
Facilitator(s): Jessica Tremblay, Aimee Gibbons

Workshop   +   Classroom Practice: curriculum & instruction   +   High School
Are you interested in using the visual arts to enhance your curriculum? How about asking students to analyze literature, historical events, and having them create artistic images of the period as a means of assessing their critical thinking? We will share with you our unit on the 1920's and "The Great Gatsby," which culminates with students creating an original work of art. We will then simulate the activities designed for students, including analyzing literature and history and creating artistic representations. Just as students need not be master artists to be successful in this exhibition, this workshop is open to all teachers of various artistic abilities.
Date/Time: Friday, 8:00am - 10:00am   Room: CC 204   Session #124
